Just trying to be helpful here…the amp wasn’t originally a 1x15; the Bassman was a 4x10 since 1954. So maybe your baffle is original and someone only swapped the speakers? Either way it wouldn’t have had a 15 inch speaker in it from the factory."My reply:"Thanks for that -- this was my initial thinking, too -- though the grill clearly shows an imprint from a big old 15" speaker, so I assumed that it had a 15" from the factory (for some reason). Weird, right? I'm going to include this little blurb in the description if that's ok with you."Now back to my initial description:This is exactly what it looks like -- a big, gorgeous old bruiser of an amp. It has a big, bold, full-on sound. It's a '57 and has much original and some modded. From the moment you turn it on and start playing, though, you get what all the fuss is about.Bill Carruth did repairs on this in the past and that included filter and electrolytic cap swaps, 3-prong cable install, and a replacement output transformer. I'm not sure if he or someone else did it, but the speaker arrangement and baffle were changed (at some point) from a 1x15" configuration (extant on the grill) to a 4x10" configuration with Kendrick speakers (improved Jensen-a-likes). At the same time, the interior was painted black, though you can still see the pine grain peeking-out and the tube chart and date code is unblemished. The tweed, of course, shows all sorts of wear and tear but it's perfect if you're the type (like me) who likes to see decades and decades of loving use.I will try to get a video demo done of this soon!Consignor tag: TDMTShipping: I will ship this, though I strongly recommend picking-up in shop!
