I’m selling my trident Fleximix.
Being a modular console, i think this one is in the best configuration available, with 12 mic/line channels with eq, a stereo master, and a monitor channel where the 4 aux sends find their physical out.(without the monitor channel, having 4 aux sends on the mic channels is useless...)
All channels have been disassembled, cleaned, main gain pot changed, mic/line switchs changed.
They also have been recapped with Nichicon HE capacitors, which seem to made the consensus, on pro audio forums discussing old trident.
I did the common mod on those to run the channels directly on +16v/-16v.Original internal weak PSU ditched, for a beefy Schlumberger PSU, in an external 3U rack.
So, a very time consuming process has been put into it (you have no idea). It’s not an « as is » fleximix, and all things that age not so well, have been replaced.
For the cosmetics, i redid a padded armrest with red simili leather finish.
The only thing that could be better are
-the ruwido fader, which, even if i painstakingly disassembled, cleaned and lubed them, still aren’t very smooth.
-the plastic latches that lock the channel strips. Some are gone, cause the plastic they're made of hardens with time and breaks. They are still produced and available, but knowing which one had the exact correct size gave me a headache.
-some new backlight light bulbs on the little vus
I guess you know what are the fleximix channels specs, but if not, here we go:
Mic pre input and line input.Toggle switch to go from pre to line, insert and direct out on each channels, that make it a killer side car little console for recording.
4 aux sends that lead to the monitor channel, where you have the main aux send level pots and the physical out of those sends on jack socket.
Three band eq on mic pre/line channels.+15/-15db @50Hz or 150Hz for lows, 8K/12K for highs, and sweepable semi parametric for the mids.
Master channel, beside the main L/R out on XLR, has inserts if you want to add some eq or 2 bus compressor to the main mix ; )
You're MORE THAN WELCOME to pick it up locally. If you're in continental europe, it can be worth the trip. Otherwise will be shipped in two separate parcels.I think it's saferReverb Buyer Protection
