For sale is my 2014 Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue R9, owned by me from new.

I personally selected this guitar from several R9s at the time, mainly because of its excellent weight, resonance and overall tone. At only 3.87 kg / 8.53 lbs, it is very light for a solid, non-weight-relieved Les Paul and feels exceptionally lively.

The figured maple top is one of the strongest features of this particular guitar. It has a very pronounced AAAAA-style flame, with a lot of movement and depth that is difficult to fully capture in photos.

Acoustically, the guitar is extremely resonant and responsive. Plugged in, it has an open and dynamic character, long sustain, a strong midrange and a clear top end. The original CustomBucker pickups deliver the classic vintage PAF-style sound without excessive low end or compression.

2014 is a particularly desirable period for the Historic Reissue series, with Gibson using many of the historically accurate specifications introduced around this era, including CustomBuckers, a one-piece rosewood fingerboard and improved vintage-correct construction details.
