About this listing
So apparently, with all the information that exists about vintage guitars, we still cannot 100% verify if a specific set of Gibson serial numbers fell in 1966 or 1969.I am putting this at 1966 simply based on a few things:Both potentiometers date to mid-1966. The single pickup route (as opposed to many later guitars having both, even if it was a single pickup model). And -- perhaps most importantly -- the "i" in Gibson on the headstock contains the dot, whereas a 1969 99% of the time would not. So there you go. Feel free to refute me. I am not claiming to be an expert. And considering that many folks who DO consider themselves one also often concede to this discrepancy. All this being said, this is a REALLY awesome guitar. And a fairly rare one to boot! What with that full sized headstock and the see-through Walnut finish! These Melody Maker SG's are pretty much begging to be made into Juniors! And they can be with very little effort! The factory pickup route facilitates a P-90 with ease (trust me on this as it was my intention with buying this!). Hell I'll even include an aftermarket pick guard just in case you decide to take the plunge! It's been recently set up and serviced by my esteemed tech. It plays like a dream and that stock single coil pickup rips! No neck or headstock breaks. However, as you can see from the pics, this poor baby suffered the ever-too-common control cavity break. It was fixed -- and kind of crudely so -- before I was the owner so don't blame me for how ugly it looks! It appears that the control cavity cover and truss rod cover might have been changed. I am only assuming as they are black while the pick guard is white. Who knows?!? Not me!Comes with its original, albeit quite rugged, chipboard-ish case!***FEEL FREE TO MAKE ME AN OFFER!!!******I will be listing a quite possibly a literal TON of cool things over the next few weeks, so make sure and check out my other items!!!***So pay attention.

I am not a shop. I am an individual seller.
I will not make sound clips or videos, as I do not have the time or proper equipment to do so.
Please do not ask me to take apart, disassemble or take pictures of things. I will provide all necessary information as it's in my best interest to represent everything I'm selling in the best way possible.
If you have never owned a piece of vintage musical gear, do your own due diligence and buy/make an offer accordingly.
And speaking of offers, please do not waste my time or yours by low-balling me. I am accepting offers again because it's easier than getting a bunch of messages. But I do not care about how you're "willing to give this pedal/amp/guitar/etc etc a try" for such and such amount. I don't care if you've been collecting or playing or whatever for 10, 20 or a hundred years. I'm always glad to have a chat and hear some stories, but I absolutely cannot stand tire kickers.
Okay, I'm done. Thanks for reading.
