Taylor 412CE 2001

Up for sale is a 2001 Taylor 412ce Grand Concert acoustic-electric guitar. Built during Taylor’s highly regarded early-2000s era in El Cajon, California, this instrument features all-solid tonewoods, exceptional fingerstyle playability, and Taylor's rock-solid NT neck joint system.

Tone & Build

• Body Shape: Compact Grand Concert body with a Venetian cutaway—incredibly comfortable to sit or stand with while offering clear, articulate note definition.
• Top: Solid Sitka Spruce for strong projection and punchy clarity.
• Back & Sides: Solid African Ovangkol, delivering the rich lows and sparkling highs of rosewood with a warm, pronounced midrange.
• Neck: Tropical Mahogany neck with a West African Ebony fretboard and bridge.
• Electronics: Original onboard Fishman Prefix pickup/preamp system for crisp, reliable plugged-in tone.

Upgrades & Hardware

• Schaller S-Locks: Upgraded with high-quality Schaller S-Lock strap buttons for extra security on stage or around the room.

Condition Notes

Overall, the guitar is in very good structural and playable condition. Action is comfortable, the neck is straight, and there is plenty of fret life remaining. Electronics work exactly as they should.

Cosmetically, it shows minor, honest signs of play wear consistent with its age, including:

• 2–3 small dings on the spruce top (see photos)
• 1 small ding on the back of the neck (does not hinder playability).
