I post this for general information and believe it to be statistically accurate.]The Kramer DMZ 5000B aluminum-neck bass guitar was first introduced and produced in 1979. It was manufactured actively during a brief window from 1979 to 1980/1981 as a top-of-the-line model featuring an iconic aluminum T-bar neck with wood inserts and DiMarzio pickups. The NeckMaterial: Forked aluminum T-bar skeleton running the length of the neck.Inserts: Filled with walnut wood inserts on the back to mimic the traditional feel of a wooden neck.Nut & Frets: Features a 1-9/16" (40mm) nut width paired with a zero fret for consistent open-string tone, alongside 20 medium jumbo frets. [1, 2, 3, 4] Scale LengthLength: Standard 34-inch long scale (though some historical literature and Blue Book listings rounded it to 33.75 inches). [1, 2] Fretboard WoodMaterial: Built with Ebonol (with some rare early variants using Ebony).Composition: Ebonol is a synthetic composite material made of paper and phenolic resin—highly resilient to weather changes and structurally identical to materials used for bowling balls.Inlays: Decorated with distinctive Mother of Pearl crown/block inlays. Pickups & ElectronicsPickups: Factory-equipped with passive DiMarzio dual-coil pickups in a P/J configuration (one split split-coil P-bass pickup at the neck and one single-coil J-bass pickup at the bridge).Preamp: While the pickups themselves are passive, the bass features an onboard passive tone network with high-utility controls.Controls: Individual volume and tone knobs for each pickup, a 3-way toggle selector switch, and two mini-toggle switches used for coil-tapping, phasing, or frequency shifting ("power bass" mode).**************************************************************************************
