The Kalos SB is a fully hollow parallel braced archtop guitar. Unlike the standard Kalos which features a top back and rim assembly, the back and body are machined from a solid block of wood. The top is then set in to the body.
The Top of this Kalos is killer piece of Figured Koa. The figuring dances around as you move the guitar under light. The body is 2 piece solid walnut. The visual contrast of these woods together is just stunning. Rounding it out is a 3 piece highly flamed maple neck with a Koa headstock faceplate.
The Kalos SB was design to give you all the same tonal properties as the standard Kalos at a lower price point. The Koa top gives this guitar an all around balanced tone with a slightly mid focused output that blooms snd sustains with overdrive. Clean chords and single note passages are full and lively.
This guitar features a pair of my DGN Tru-PAF HiPo humbuckers which sound just like a good PAF but push the amp just a little bit harder. A DGN Blaster and coil taps round out this super versatile electronics setup.
