For sale is a very good condition Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion pedal with a silver Made in Japan label, believed to date to approximately 1989.

The exterior shows a few marks, scuffs, finish chips, and other cosmetic wear consistent with the pedal’s age. The original serial-number sticker is missing. The previous seller identified the pedal as a 1989 example based on its construction and characteristics, but the exact production date cannot be independently confirmed without the serial sticker.

A replacement rubber thumbscrew gasket was installed before we purchased the pedal.

Turbo Modes

The DS-2 provides two distinct distortion voices:

• Turbo Mode I delivers the pedal’s more conventional distortion response
• Turbo Mode II adds a more prominent midrange character and a more forward lead voice

The Remote jack allows the Turbo mode to be switched using a compatible external footswitch.

Cosmetic Condition

The pedal is in excellent functional condition with cosmetic wear consistent with its age.

Observed wear includes:

• Scattered exterior marks
• Surface scuffs
• Small finish chips
• General signs of previous use
• Missing serial-number sticker

The pedal has been cleaned and tested, and all controls, switching functions, input/output connections, and Turbo modes are operational.
