Vista Jagmaster, made in 1997 - 1998. If you are looking at this, you probably know what this is already ! Basically a Fender Jaguar with humbuckers and a strat tremolo. I believe this one was made by either Tokai or Dyna gakki. Crafted in Japan, serial A017153. All original except the tremolo arm (will come with matching non original tremolo arm).
At Kuroko Guitars, we do out best to clean up the instrument, set up the instrument with proper action and intonation, and ship with proper packaging. The guitar will be strung up with a new set of Ernie Ball Slinky 10's and will be ready to rock with its new owner. Please check out the detailed description below and let us know if you have any questions.
Frets
These came with vintage style frets out of the factory so the width and height is smaller than most modern Fenders. Frets height is 0.91 - to 1.00 mm , fret width is 1.8mm. The fret height is not too far off from the factory specs, I'd say 80 - 90% of the fret is left. There is some visible fret indentation from the 1st to the 5th fret, but you can't really feel it. Overall in good and very playable condition, but not new.
Neck
7.25 inch neck radius. 21.5 mm neck depth at first fret, 23.3 mm at 12th fret. 41.5mm nut width. 24 inch short scale length. Has a comfortable D-like shape. Overall a thinner and flatter neck than most fender, combined with vintage neck radius is the appeal of this guitar for many players.
Truss Rod and Action
It has a bullet truss rod on the headstock. I loosened the truss rod 90 degrees for proper relief at 0.01 inches, can loosen another 45 degrees before it is fully loose. Truss rod can tighten with no problem. Action is nice and low without buzzing at 1.75mm on the 12th fret on the low E and 1.75mm on the 12th fret on the high E. Tremolo is setup to be decked.
Body / Finish
Beautiful candy apple red. There are scuff marks on the bottom. The back side has some paint chips. The front is pretty clean aside from a several shallow dents and scratches visible on close inspection. There are small finish chips and cracks on both sides of the neck pocket. Please inspect the last 8 picture for close up of the major cosmetic dings on the body. Measured at 8.4 lbs.
Hardware
This does not come with the original tremolo arm, but will come with a non original tremolo arm that fits. Will also fit any 5mm threaded tremolo arm.
The tremolo unit is original and works well.
The tuner is original and works well.
There are five tremolo springs attached to the unit currently. Not sure if they are all original and they are not all needed for proper setup, especially for a floating setup, but will keep them there. Tremolo is setup currently to be decked.
Pickups and Electronics
Two original humbuckers, 3 way toggle, master tone and master volume knob. No frills and they work well. I know people like to replace these humbuckers but I think they sound nice and somewhat reminiscent of Jazzmasters pickups in humbucker form (hence the jagMASTER name).
