Lorenzo Frignani began his professional career in 1986 and has dealt with construction and restoration of stringed and plucked instruments for over thirty years. He received numerous honors and awards for his musical instruments in Italy and around the world.

Lorenzo Frignani says this about his ”Manuel Ramirez” model:

“The design of this guitar is intended  to propose a modern copy of an original made in Madrid in 1910 by "Manuel Ramirez", one of the leading makers of the great Spanish historical school.

The proportions, the internal construction and every aesthetic and construction detail are an exact reproduction of the original.

The aim of this project is to offer a guitar that expresses the best functional and acoustic qualities  of the original without sharing its defects of time.”

This is a truly magnificent guitar! It is in excellent condition, and it is bright and colorful, powerful and evocative, with warmth, clarity, a singing voice to be envied.  Some guitarists say this guitar has the ”Old World” sound to it. Master Frignani is top of his class in all regards.  He simply builds an incredibly musical guitar.  The woods, machines, workmanship, purflings, all exceptional. One can hear all of the strings, no one string overpowers another and all the notes are even up and down the fretboard! This guitar projects into a performance space, thanks to the wonderful spruce top and the master’s ability to voice a guitar.

This is my own personal guitar, I don’t play it much anymore because I am building a new home and guitar workshop, I really want to re-home this guitar!

There three very, very shallow dings on the top in the upper bout on the treble side near the fret board which are hard to photograph. There is one light scratch, 1 1/4” to 1 1/2” long on the lower bout treble side of the guitar (see photo, area circled in yellow), there are also three light scratches next to each near the longer scratch (see photo, area circled in yellow). There is one light string imprint/ding on the headstock near the crest in line with the bass strings slot (see photo, area circled in yellow). Next to the heel cap, on both sides of the heel, there are several small gaps were the maple binding was set into the guitar’s side (see photo, area circled in yellow). There are a few scattered pores in the guitar’s back and sides that are completely filled, the fit and finish of this guitar is in excellent condition.
