BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer — 2-Channel Signal Processor/Exciter

Classic all-analog rack unit used by studio engineers and live sound techs to add clarity, punch, and definition to a mix. The Sonic Maximizer works by correcting phase relationships between frequencies, restoring the “sound” that gets lost/smeared through speakers — the result is a mix that sounds tighter, clearer, and louder without actually turning anything up.

Features:

  • 2 independent channels (Channel A / Channel B), usable in stereo or as dual mono
  • Lo Contour and Process knobs per channel for shaping bass tightness and high-end clarity
  • 5-segment LED metering per channel plus clip indicator
  • Bypass switch for A/B comparison
  • Unbalanced 1/4” and RCA inputs/outputs
  • 1U rackmount, all-analog circuitry — no digital processing, no menus

A well-loved studio and live-sound staple — used in mix busses, PA systems, and guitar/bass rigs to bring life back into a dull-sounding signal chain.

Condition: Fully functional, shows normal cosmetic wear (light scuffs/scratches on top panel, visible in photos) consistent with studio/rack use.
