A classic monophonic analogue synthesiser introduced by Roland in 1982, the SH-101 is renowned for its punchy basses, cutting leads and expressive sequencer. Despite its straightforward architecture, it became a staple of house, techno, electro and synth-pop thanks to its immediate hands-on workflow and unmistakable sound.
Featuring a single VCO with sawtooth, pulse and sub-oscillator waveforms, alongside noise, the SH-101. Its built-in arpeggiator and 100-step sequencer have made it a favourite for both live performance and studio production, while CV/Gate connectivity allows integration with vintage and modular systems.
