Paul Reed Smith SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow Piezo Orange Tiger Smokeburst
Serial Number: I014373
Weight: 7.26 lbs.

The PRS SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow Piezo in Orange Tiger Smokeburst is one of the most versatile instruments in the SE lineup, delivering electric and acoustic voices in a single, beautifully finished guitar. Built on the Custom 24 platform PRS introduced back in 1985, this semi-hollow version pairs a flame maple veneer top over a chambered mahogany body — adding natural resonance and an airy, organic dimension to the classic PRS voice. The striking Orange Tiger Smokeburst plays across the figured top in high-gloss polyurethane, set off by white body and fingerboard binding, a matching flame maple headstock veneer, and vintage-style lampshade knobs. At a resonant, lightweight 7.26 lbs, it's as comfortable on a long gig as it is eye-catching on stage.

The maple neck is carved to PRS's fast, familiar Wide Thin profile (13/16" at the 1/2 fret, 57/64" at the 12 1/2 fret) and set into the body for sustain and seamless upper-fret access. A bound rosewood fingerboard carries the signature PRS bird inlays and a smooth 10" radius, with 24 frets over the 25" scale — the split-the-difference length that balances tightness and warmth — and a 1 11/16" PRS nut for stable tuning. The PRS patented tremolo with integrated piezo and PRS-designed tuners in nickel hardware handle expressive vibrato while anchoring the guitar's acoustic side.

Tonally, this is where the SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow Piezo really opens up. A pair of 85/15 "S" humbuckers, coil-tappable via the push/pull tone control, cover everything from thick humbucker punch to glassy single-coil chime, while the LR Baggs/PRS piezo system adds convincing amplified-acoustic tones on top. Discrete magnetic and piezo volume controls let you blend the two through the Mix/Piezo jack, or run the dual outputs separately — magnetics into your amp and piezo into an acoustic amp, DI, or the board. Plug into the magnetic jack alone and the piezo battery bypasses completely as a failsafe, so your humbuckers keep working even on a dead battery. Whether you're a gigging pro who needs electric and acoustic in one, a worship or session player, a singer-songwriter, or a tone chaser after near-infinite versatility, this one covers it all. It ships in a PRS SE gigbag (Serial #I014373). Order today from Brian's Guitars, your authorized PRS dealer.
