The Taylor Builder's Edition 914ce, Next Generation, sits at the top of Taylor's Builder's Edition line, pairing a sinker redwood top with Honduran rosewood back and sides in Taylor's flagship 900 Series appointment package. Scalloped V-Class Bracing with Relief Rout gives the redwood top the structural precision to carry its full dynamic range, from a whisper-quiet fingerpicked passage to a full strum, without the bracing getting in the way.

Sinker redwood carries cedar's touch sensitivity into a higher volume ceiling, and Honduran rosewood underneath supplies a piano-like low end and harmonic complexity that keeps developing the longer the guitar is played in. Together they produce a lush, high-fidelity voice with pitch precision up and down the neck — a guitar built for a player who wants to hear every overtone in a quiet room and still have the headroom to carry a stage.

The 900 Series appointment package makes this guitar unmistakable: Hawaiian koa purfling with paua edge trim, an ebony backstrap, Belle Fleur fingerboard and headstock inlays in paua and mother-of-pearl, gold Gotoh 510 tuners, and a full-body gloss finish over the Shaded Edgeburst top. The Action Control Neck uses a long-tenon joint that reaches deeper into the body, and the string height adjusts through the soundhole without taking off the strings or the neck. Taylor's Claria pickup system adds a soundhole-mounted Mid-Contour control alongside volume and tone, so the amplified voice can be shaped as precisely as the acoustic one. Every 914ce ships under our Dread-Not Guarantee — a 30-day in-home trial and a full year to trade it in for up to 90% credit toward anything else in the store, backed by a free humidity monitoring kit. It is a guitar built for a player who has outgrown everything below it in the line.
