A superb-looking 1997 Epiphone Les Paul Goldtop, finished with a classic metallic gold top and deep wine-red back, sides and neck.

The serial number, F7040991, dates the guitar to April 1997 and indicates Korean manufacture. These older Korean-built Epiphone Les Pauls have developed a strong reputation as solid, well-made instruments, and this is a particularly attractive example.

Its standout feature is the excellent mixed pickup configuration, combining a wonderfully expressive P-90 in the neck position with a covered humbucker at the bridge.

The neck P-90 delivers warm, open and articulate clean tones, with plenty of growl and character when pushed. The bridge humbucker provides the thicker, more powerful sound expected from a Les Paul, making this a genuinely versatile guitar for blues, classic rock, alternative music and heavier driven tones.

It is fitted with a three-way pickup selector, individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, a Tune-o-matic-style bridge, stopbar tailpiece, vintage-style machine heads, cream plastics and traditional trapezoid fingerboard inlays.

The guitar sounds and plays superbly, with excellent sustain and a broad range of usable tones.

This is a used guitar and shows honest signs of play and handling, including surface scratches, small marks, hardware wear and general age-related cosmetic wear, particularly to the rear of the body.
