Sony SRA-3

Sony SRA-3 Vintage Tube Recording Preamplifier. This unit has been used by artists like Kevin Parker of Tame Impala on his record Currents to add color and sum L-R channels, and create sounds that are hard to achieve without analog gear.

I linked a demo video of me using the Sony SRA-3 Recording Preamplifier. I am selling as-is, but the demo video was made today, July, 27, 2026. I tested the front Mic Inputs with my guitar and the back inputs with vinyl as shown in the video.

This SRA-3 sat idle for a few years and it was carefully and slowly warmed up with a Variac before powering on. I'm sure it could use some general maintenance. I had this SRA-3 maintained many years ago by Play It Again Sam in Lakewood, Ohio when they had an incredibly competent tech on staff. I used this SRA-3 a few years ago as my main recording preamp. I have also used this preamp in an analog chain for Mastering with surprisingly good results.

The 12AT7 tubes are JJ's. The other tubes look much older. It looks like two are GE tubes and one is Toshiba.
