The PRS Private Stock program began in 1996 as a boutique building team within the PRS factory in Stevensville, Maryland, specially tasked with making the most personally crafted electric guitars available anywhere in the world. Conceived and built with a "one-off" mentality aiming to deliver heirloom-quality musical instruments, all PRS Private Stock instruments boast unprecedented levels of customization.

As Paul Reed Smith himself has said: “They are simultaneously musical instruments, pieces of art, tools to joyfully spend time with, and treasured possessions. The goal of Private Stock is not only to create the most beautiful and best-playing guitar money can buy, but the best sounding. Build
The Private Stock helps to select tonewoods from the private stash in “the vault” outside Paul’s office at the PRS headquarters. Each piece of wood housed in “the vault” is slightly different in figure, weight, and hue. These aspects combine to create a one of a kind instrument.

Finishes
Private Stock finishes incorporate the natural hue and design of the wood to make a strong statement. This particular quilt top lends a natural movement in the quilt that naturally lead to a "dragon's breath" finish, where the blue and green blend into each other.

Inlays
Each Private Stock build provides opportunities to customize the build and the inlays are one of the most flexible aspects of the build. This guitar uses unstained quilted maple with mother of pearl outlines to standout against the beautiful cocobolo fingerboard

Condition: This guitar is in fantastic shape with almost no visible play wear. I could see some minor play swirls on the top, but nothing that would show on camera and nothing I could feel with my hands. The neck finish is also smooth and has no chips/scratches. Minimal fret wear is observable (shown in photos). There are a few small finish imperfections on the rear plates at the screw locations (shown in photos).
