Personal Thoughts:
This is an exceptionally rare Gibson acoustic and one of the most visually impressive Hummingbirds produced during this period. Built as part of a tiny 28-guitar limited run, it takes the unmistakable styling of the classic 1960 Hummingbird and elevates it with beautifully figured quilted maple across the back and sides. The Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish, ornate pickguard and gold hardware give it all the traditional character expected from a Hummingbird, but the maple construction makes this a far more unusual and collectible example.

The quilted maple is the real centrepiece, giving the guitar a dramatic appearance while also offering a clear, focused and articulate tonal character. It should retain the warmth and strong projection associated with the Hummingbird shape, but with extra definition and a slightly quicker response than the more familiar mahogany-backed versions. Complete with its original limited-edition certificate, Gibson literature and hardshell case, this is a genuinely scarce Custom Shop acoustic with significant collector appeal.

Condition Report:
Excellent condition. Presents very cleanly overall, particularly for a 2008 instrument, with only a few tiny impressions visible under close inspection. No significant wear or damage to mention. Supplied with its original Gibson hardshell case, limited-edition certificate and accompanying Gibson paperwork.
