Born in the 1950s, the Telecaster's simple construction makes it a legendary instrument that translates picking nuance directly into sound. But individual instruments vary - some can have overly harsh highs, or not enough midrange and low-end push, leaving chords feeling scattered in a band mix.

Since its founding in 1987, the Fender Custom Shop has stood at the pinnacle of Fender craftsmanship. Their goal was never just to reissue period-correct parts, but to achieve, at the highest level, the clean separation and outstanding playability players actually want. This is an instrument with exactly that ideal tonal balance: the Fender Custom Shop '63 Telecaster NOS, finished in NOS (New Old Stock) condition that perfectly recreates how it looked the day it left the factory. The Custom Shop's most senior craftsmen have poured the golden-era details of 1963 into this build without compromise.

It features the defining trait of the 1963 spec: a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard glued along the curve of the neck. Compared to the earlier slab-board era, it retains more of maple's focused attack while adding rosewood's smooth midrange, giving remarkably balanced output across the whole range.

It has all the sharp, defined edge you expect from a Telecaster, yet chord strumming and delicate arpeggios never blur - every string rings out clearly. It supports the ensemble beautifully whether you're playing rhythm or lead.

The 3-ply mint-green pickguard and traditional spiral saddle bridge, among other era-correct parts, faithfully recreate the details unique to a '63. The lustrous beauty of the NOS finish is genuinely breathtaking the moment you open the case.
