A classic Les Paul Standard in the style of the 1950s, now with even more vintage charm!

The Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble offers all the features and performance of our regular Les Paul Standard 50s models, but with even more vintage charm. These limited-edition Les Paul models differ from the regular Les Paul Standard 50s models in two ways. First, the Burstbucker 1 and Burstbucker 2 pickups are left open and are equipped with the standard Alnico 2 magnets. The second difference lies in the finish. The finish colors are “vintage” variations of the standard nitrocellulose finishes. Gibson’s standard gloss nitrocellulose finishes match those of brand-new models from the 1950s, while the high-gloss nitrocellulose “Vintage” finishes on the Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble models are slightly faded compared to the standard versions, similar to the subtle, gentle vintage patina that develops over several years. The burst patterns vary slightly from guitar to guitar, as each is individually hand-stained.

Of course, all the standard features that make the Les Paul Standard 50s models so popular are still present, including a solid, non-hollowed-out mahogany body with a figured AA maple top, as well as a rounded mahogany neck in the vintage 1950s style with a rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium-jumbo frets, and trapezoid inlays. The Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble is equipped with an ABR-1, the classic Tune-O-Matic bridge, an aluminum stop-bar tailpiece, Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone knobs, and aged gold Top Hat potentiometer knobs with pointers. The uncovered, calibrated Burstbucker 1 (neck) and Burstbucker 2 (bridge) pickups are internally identical to their standard Burstbucker counterparts but are housed in a Double Classic White enclosure. They are handcrafted at the Gibson Pickup Shop, equipped with Alnico 2 magnets, and hand-wired with Audio Taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors. The Double Classic White pickup housings and vintage finishes give the Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble an elegant vintage character.
