The RE-16 was one of EV’s top of the line cardioid dynamic vocal microphones, with an emphasis on great rejection of unwanted sounds. The RE-16 has the same internals as the RE-15 with an additional blast filter on the top of the microphone to reduce unwanted pops. These are versatile microphones that can be used on almost any source with great results. Whether it’s vocals, toms, guitar amps, or acoustics, the RE-16 is a great accurate sounding microphone with an even balance and great warmth. While this microphone has a dent in the grill, it is working perfectly. I bought it to test some different mics on my voice and I decided to go with a different dynamic for my own voice.
