The Ultimate "Case Queen": 2006 Gibson SG Standard (Heritage Cherry)
This is a 20-year preservation project. Purchased brand new in 2006. This SG Standard is in dead mint, museum-grade condition.
When you open the case, you are greeted by the unmistakable "factory fresh" Gibson vanilla scent. This instrument has been kept in a climate-controlled environment and has never seen a stage, a smoke-filled room, or even a guitar stand.
Provenance & Case Candy (The Full Set)
This listing includes every single solitary item that came with the guitar from the Nashville factory:
Original Sales Receipt: Dated 2006, in my name (Single Owner).
Factory Checklist: The original "Birth Certificate" from Gibson.
Original Gibson Tool: Immediately placed in a protective bag upon purchase; zero leaks, zero oxidation.
Case Paperwork & Manuals: All pristine and unbent.
Preserved Plastics: The pickguard and pickup plastics were carefully removed and stored in the case pocket—the pickguard underneath is literally perfect.
Condition Report
Body & Finish: 100% Mint. No worming, no swirls, no "checking." The Heritage Cherry nitrocellulose finish is as glossy as the day it was sprayed.
Electronics: 100% original. 490R/498T Alnico Humbuckers. No solder joints have ever been touched.
The Case: Original Gibson USA black hardshell case with white plush interior. The red plastic factory safety tab is still intact on the combination lock—it has never been broken or set.
Why This 2006 Model?
2006 is regarded as a "sweet spot" year for Gibson USA, featuring high-quality mahogany and dark, rich Rosewood fretboards that are harder to find on modern standard-run models. This is a rare opportunity to own a "brand new" 20-year-old Gibson with documented single-owner history.
