General Vintage Tone proudly presents the exclusive hand-built Vibro Tone Junior, based on the legendary 1964 Blackface single-ended circuit 6w / 7watts.
Each amplifier is meticulously hand-built and point-to-point wired on a traditional fiberboard, using carefully selected premium components. The signal path features Jupiter Condenser Red Astron capacitors, SoZo Blue Molded capacitors, and NOS Sangamo silver mica capacitors, Sprague NOS… All resistors are carbon composition types, with a Mundorf resistor used in the bias circuit.
The custom-designed output and power transformers have been specifically selected to operate with a low B+ voltage, allowing the amplifier to deliver the rich harmonic character and dynamic response of the finest pre-CBS Fender amplifiers. The B+ supply operates at approximately 300 volts, providing exceptional touch sensitivity and authentic vintage tone.
The amplifier is fitted with Belton Micalex tube sockets and Belton tube retainers for maximum reliability.
This exclusive amplifier comes equipped with a NOS Ken-Rad 5Y3GT rectifier tube (1960), a NOS General Electric 6V6GT power tube from the 1960s, and a matched pair of balanced Svetlana 12AX7 preamp tubes.
Power supply filtering is provided by a 35 mm CM multi-section capacitor made in the USA, featuring the original 20 µF specifications found in vintage Blackface amplifiers.
The cabinet is handcrafted from solid American pine with traditional finger-jointed construction, covered in exclusive Surf Green tolex, and fitted with a 10-inch Jupiter Condenser Alnico 5, 15-watt speaker.
Weighing only 11 kg (24.2 lbs), the cabinet is slightly larger than a traditional Vibro Champ, providing improved resonance, a fuller low end, and a more spacious sound.
