Martin 2025 OM-42 Standard Natural

[Description]

The OM-42 officially joined the Standard Series in 1999 following the huge popularity of the Paul Simon signature model "OM-42PS" released in 1997. Since then, it has established itself as one of the flagship models representing the Martin lineup.

In 2025, Martin redesigned the Standard Series. The refreshed OM-42 features GE (Golden Era) scalloped spruce bracing—also found in the Modern Deluxe series—delivering vintage-style resonance and incredible sustain. Further refinements include a updated neck profile, thinner fingerboard, and revised bridge and heel shapes, offering supreme playability.

Sound & Performance:

This instrument features exceptional response speed, clear separation, and rich harmonic overtones.

- Fingerstyle: Highly sensitive to touch. The tone stays clear and articulate, accompanied by the signature shimmering overtones of Style 42.

- Flatpicking & Arpeggios: Clear single-note definition with deep Rosewood sustain. Notes blend naturally without muddiness.

- Strumming: Long scale length provides pleasant string tension and a tight low end, keeping its punchy core even under heavier strumming.

[Condition]

- There is a slight lacquer ridge along the top center seam and a tiny chip on the fingerboard (likely from manufacturing), but overall usage is extremely minimal, and the guitar is in excellent condition.

- Frets remaining: 95%+

- Truss rod: Plenty of adjustment room in both directions.

- Neck state: Straight.

- Action height: Approx. 2.2mm (6th string @ 12F) / 1.6mm (1st string @ 12F).

- Saddle height remaining: Approx. 3.0mm (6th string) / 2.5mm (1st string).

Setup with Light Gauge strings (.012-.054).
