I built this in 2020 as a personal instrument. I played it for a few years in an electric band, and am now offering it up for sale. Loosely based on a 50's Kay electric, but it's carved and braced like a typical F-5. I used my F-5 templates and patterns, just without the scroll and lower point. Lipstick magnetic pickup with volume and tone knobs installed on the top with an endpin jack. Sounds good as an acoustic, or plugged in for an amplified sound. It's fairly natural sounding plugged in, not electric guitar sounding.
Solid hand-carved Engelmann Spruce top, hand-carved solid maple back with maple sides and neck. Stained black top, not painted, with a gloss nitro lacquer finish. Some light playwear on the top, and there are two repaired top cracks that are both stable with cleats underneath, so it is priced accordingly. Gothoh nickel tuners, nickel James engraved tailpiece, two-way adjustable truss rod with magnetic cover. Comes in a Crossrock hardshell case that shows light wear.
