Suhr Oso Short-Scale - Gold #94641

The Suhr Oso Short Scale in Gold is a fresh interpretation of a timeless solid body design, blending vintage-inspired character with the precision, playability, and innovation that define every Suhr instrument. Built in Lake Elsinore, California, this beautifully crafted guitar combines premium tonewoods, meticulous construction, and modern performance features into an instrument that feels instantly familiar while offering a voice entirely its own. Finished in a striking high gloss Gold finish, the Oso delivers understated elegance with a refined aesthetic that is equally at home on stage, in the studio, or in a collection.

At the heart of the instrument is a resonant 2-piece Alder body that produces a balanced tonal foundation with articulate highs, focused mids, and a warm, responsive low end. Its comfortable Oso body shape provides excellent balance and effortless playing comfort, while the substantial yet manageable weight of 8 lbs 4 oz contributes to impressive sustain and resonance without sacrificing ergonomics.

The roasted Maple neck offers exceptional stability and enhanced tonal clarity, while its satin finish provides a smooth, natural feel that encourages fast, effortless movement across the fingerboard. Carved to Suhr's Historic C profile, measuring .850 inches at the first fret and .950 inches at the twelfth fret, the neck delivers a comfortable grip that appeals to both vintage enthusiasts and modern players. The Indian Rosewood fingerboard features a comfortable 10-inch radius and 22 vintage nickel frets, offering a familiar playing surface that excels in both expressive chord work and articulate lead playing. The shorter 24.625-inch scale length gives the instrument a slightly softer string feel, making bends effortless while adding warmth and richness to every note.

Equipped with a pair of Suhr's acclaimed humbuckers, the Oso is capable of remarkable tonal versatility. The Raw Nickel SSV neck pickup produces warm, open cleans with exceptional clarity and dynamic response, while the Raw Nickel SSH bridge pickup delivers punch, definition, and enough output to handle everything from classic rock to modern high gain applications. Controlled through a versatile 5-way switching system with master volume and tone controls, the electronics provide an impressive range of sounds that move seamlessly between sparkling cleans, articulate crunch, and powerful lead tones.

Performance is further enhanced by Suhr's premium hardware. Suhr locking tuning machines provide exceptional tuning stability and make string changes quick and efficient, while the Suhr 2-Post bridge with solid chrome saddles delivers outstanding sustain, precise intonation, and a smooth playing feel. Every component reflects Suhr's commitment to uncompromising quality and meticulous attention to detail.

Finished with Suhr's elegant Silver Script logo, the Oso Short Scale embodies craftsmanship, innovation, and musical inspiration in equal measure. Its combination of premium materials, effortless playability, versatile electronics, and flawless American construction makes it an exceptional instrument for players seeking boutique quality with timeless appeal. Complete with a protective softshell case, this example, serial number 01-OSO-0007, represents another outstanding creation from Suhr's California workshop.
