With the American Acoustasonic series, relaunched in 2019, Fender has created an entirely new instrument concept that blurs the lines between acoustic and electric guitars. Developed and manufactured at the Fender factory in Corona, California, the Acoustasonic combines the familiar ergonomics of a Stratocaster with an innovative hollowbody design and state-of-the-art digital and pickup technology. The result is neither a classic acoustic guitar with a pickup nor an ordinary electric guitar—but rather an exceptionally versatile hybrid instrument that can switch between a wide variety of acoustic and electric sounds at the touch of a button.

The solid Sitka spruce top and the chambered mahogany body produce a surprisingly resonant and balanced fundamental tone even when unamplified. At the heart of the instrument, however, is the three-way pickup system developed jointly by Fender and Fishman. The Fishman Matrix Under-Saddle Transducer delivers authentic acoustic tones with outstanding dynamics, while the Fishman Acoustasonic Enhancer Body Sensor captures the finest body resonances and percussive nuances. The system is complemented by a Fender N4 Noiseless singlecoil pickup, which delivers the characteristic Fender electric guitar sound. Using the five-way switch and the blend control, you can select numerous different tone characteristics and blend them seamlessly together, covering everything from classic dreadnought and small-body acoustic sounds to authentic Stratocaster tones for clean, blues, or rock sounds.

In terms of playability, the medium-width Modern Deep “C” neck profile fits comfortably in the hand and, together with the long 648mm scale length, immediately provides a familiar Stratocaster feel. The high-quality ebony fingerboard with a 12"-radius and Narrow Tall frets ensures comfortable bending, precise intonation, and excellent playability all the way up to the highest registers.

Visually, the Acoustasonic combines modern elegance with classic Fender elements. In particular, the combination of the solid spruce top finished in transparent Sonic Blue, the natural, satin-matte mahogany body, and the strikingly figured, dark ebony accent elements gives the instrument an exceptionally high-quality and distinctive appearance.
