Description:
Rupert Neve Designs 5045 Primary Source Enhancer, pulled from our touring/production rack. Widely regarded as the world's most natural-sounding feedback reduction tool — this 2-channel, 100% analog unit increases how loud a microphone can be pushed before feedback occurs (by up to 20dB) without adding obvious tonal coloration, unlike a conventional gate. Built around Rupert Neve Designs' custom transformer-coupled I/O.
Specs:
- 2 independent channels (Channel A / Channel B)
- Per-channel controls: Process Engage, Time Constant, RMS/Peak mode select, Threshold, Depth, Process Active indicator
- Threshold: continuously variable from -20 dBu to +10 dBu
- Depth: continuously variable from 0 dB to 20 dB
- Time Constant settings A–F (RMS mode: 50ms to 3s; Peak mode: fixed 20ms attack, variable release 20ms–30s)
- Maximum output level: +25 dBu
- THD+N: better than 0.002% (feedback suppressor engaged or bypassed)
- 100% analog signal path — no filtering or digital processing
- Transformer-coupled XLR I/O
- 1U rackmount chassis
Condition notes: Normal cosmetic wear from touring/production use — visible marks/dust on top panel (see photos). Tested and functional.
