EarthQuaker Devices Bit Commander V1 Analog Octave Synth

This is the sought-after original Version 1 of the EarthQuaker Devices Bit Commander. While later Version 2 models introduced silent soft-touch switching and top-mounted jacks, the legendary all-analog synth circuit and unmistakable sound remained unchanged. Many players appreciate the original V1 for its classic design and early EarthQuaker production, making it an excellent choice for collectors and musicians alike.

The original EarthQuaker Devices Bit Commander V1 is a unique all-analog monophonic octave synthesizer that transforms your guitar into a massive vintage-inspired synth. Featuring four independently controlled square-wave voices—two octaves down, one octave down, the original signal, and one octave up—it delivers everything from thick analog bass lines to searing synth leads and lo-fi arcade-style textures. Unlike digital modeling pedals, the Bit Commander creates its unmistakable sound entirely through analog circuitry, giving it a warm, organic character with immediate response and outstanding touch sensitivity.

Simple controls make it easy to dial in a wide range of inspiring sounds, whether you're looking for classic synth tones, experimental textures, or massive layered octave effects. The Bit Commander has become a favorite among players in alternative, progressive rock, experimental, indie, and electronic music thanks to its distinctive voice and creative flexibility.
