Up for sale is a vintage 1980s Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive pedal, Made in Japan with the highly desirable Black Label.
Get that legendary, smooth 1980s Japanese overdrive tone at a great player-grade price. This pedal has plenty of cosmetic mojo, but it is 100% fully functional and ready to rock your pedalboard.
Condition Notes:
- Fully Functional: The tone pot has been fully serviced/repaired and all controls (Level, Tone, Drive) now sweep smoothly and operate perfectly.
- Cosmetic Wear: The yellow enclosure is road-worn with plenty of chips, scratches, and battle scars from decades of use. Pure vintage aesthetic, but structurally solid.
- Power Requirement: As an early 1980s Japanese model, this circuit requires a vintage 12V Boss ACA power supply or a 9V battery to run at full fidelity (running it on a standard modern 9V isolated supply will result in a dim LED).
If you are looking for that legendary mid-focused push to tighten up your tube amp, nothing beats an original 1980s MIJ circuit.
