Terry Bozzio's Remo - 7x14" Quadura Snare Drum, Signed Head! 1985–1989 - Black
Terry Bozzio's influence on modern drumming is immense!
Terry Bozzio redefined the drum set, transforming it into a fully melodic, orchestral instrument. He achieved legendary status in the 1970s by conquering Frank Zappa's notoriously unplayable "The Black Page". His fierce technicality blended with deep groove and intense musicality pushed his band Missing Persons into the New Wave mainstream and famously anchored Jeff Beck’s the powerhouse trio. His pioneering use of melodic ostinatos and tuned percussion expanded the boundaries of drum design, tuning, and acoustic engineering. His Melodic Drumming & the Ostinato and Solo Drums instructional videos inspired generations of drummers, demonstrating that the musical possibilities of a drum set are endless.
We're proud to present THE TERRY BOZZIO DRUM COLLECTION. The collection includes artifacts from his virtually every era of his career, including entire gargantuan drum sets, snare drums, individual toms, cymbals, cases, promotional items and more.

This 7x14" Remo Quadura Snare Drum represents a significant turning point in the remarkable career one of the most unique and innovative drummers of our time. Terry Bozzio scored major success with top artists like Frank Zappa, U.K. and Missing Persons. In the mid 1980s, he made the bold move to establish himself as a solo drum artist. At this time he joined forces with the REMO drum company who were also making a bold move. REMO had already established themselves as the top manufacturer of drumheads in the world. They were now attempting to establish themselves as a top drum builder with their innovative, composite shelled Quadura Acousticon drums. Terry Bozzio was the perfect artist to represent their new innovation.
At this time Terry released his revolutionary Melodic Drumming and Solo Drums instructional videos. These videos inspired generations of drummers abandon previously held limitations on their drumming. Terry is playing black Remo Quadura drums in both of these videos. He also played these drums in his collaborations with Jeff Beck, including their appearance in Mick Jagger's Throwaway video
Manufactured in the USA, the Quadura series featured Remo's proprietary Acousticon composite shell, a molded wood-fiber shell engineered to deliver exceptional consistency, projection, and sensitivity while remaining stable under changing environmental conditions. The Quadura design produced a focused, articulate sound with impressive warmth and attack.
The drum remains in excellent working condition but shows obvious signs of its years of use. No notable issues. Terry signed the Drum Doctor batter head.
Includes a Certificate of Authentication signed by Terry Bozzio and Donn Bennett.
