2025 Atkin D37 - Shadetop - Aged Finish

This is a particularly special Atkin D37. In a YouTube video (linked, skip to 55 minutes in) featuring recently completed guitars, Alister Atkin shows this exact guitar before it was shipped to Chicago Music Exchange, where I later purchased it new. In the video, he and another Atkin employee remark that this example is notably more powerful than other D37s.

It really is unlike any other dreadnought I’ve owned. It’s extremely responsive to a light touch, with real depth in the bass, beautiful harmonics, and excellent sustain. What ultimately won me over was how well it fingerpicks. It’s the best fingerpicking dread I’ve owned, and it even edged out my Collings D2HG.

I’m only selling it because I wasn’t playing it very often. I gravitate almost exclusively toward my small-bodied guitars.

The guitar has zero issues and has been kept at a monitored 50% relative humidity in a smoke-free home. It comes with a Furch-branded Hiscox Pro II case, which is lightweight yet extremely heavy-duty. Hiscox cases are difficult to find.
