Pearl (PML) C-2 Vintage Microphone.
Extremely rare Pearl C-2 microphone. Has one of the first rectangular capsules in history and uses the rare Telefunken AC701 tube. This was made from the 1959-early 1960s.
I had a new power supply and cable made by the amazing Leo Schaal in Germany.
Also, includes a holder that works perfectly and a case.
Sounds amazing and is in incredible shape for a 60+ year old microphone.
Look at the pics.
Thanks!
Here is some info:
The vintage Pearl C-2 is a historic, tube-based large-diaphragm condenser microphone originally introduced by Pearl Microphone Laboratorium (now Pearl Microphones / Milab) in Sweden in 1958. It is highly notable for being one of the very first microphones to feature a proprietary rectangular microphone capsule, which provided a uniquely flat frequency response and eventually became a hallmark of Pearl's studio microphones. - History: The C-2 was developed in 1958 by Rune Rosander as Pearl pushed the boundaries of traditional round capsule designs. [1, 2]
- Design Philosophy: Pearl microphones are prized for their uncolored, natural, and highly detailed sound signatures, which often combine the transient response of a small-diaphragm microphone with the body associated with large diaphragms. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Legacy: The rectangular capsule technology pioneered in the C-2 is still utilized in modern Pearl studio microphones, such as the current CC 22 and ELM-C
