This is a vintage Teisco Spectrum Bass EBX-200. It is the original vintage model, not the later reissue SPB-200. Based on its specifications, I believe it was manufactured around 1965–1966. The finish is Metallic Red.

Original EBX-200 basses rarely appear on the market, even in Japan, making this a highly collectible and hard-to-find instrument.

Before listing it for sale, I had it professionally serviced by a guitar technician. The instrument received a full cleaning, a new nut, and a general setup to make it playable. It is currently in working condition. However, please keep in mind that this is a bass that is approximately 60 years old and should not be compared to a modern instrument.

To the best of my knowledge, the bass remains largely original aside from the replacement nut, although some small screws or similar hardware may have been replaced over the years. As shown in the photos, it has plenty of cosmetic wear, scratches, and signs of age. Despite that, it is an exceptionally rare model, and in my opinion, it produces a fantastic vintage tone.

If you have been searching for an original EBX-200, this is a great opportunity.

Weight: Approximately 4.1 kg (9.0 lbs)

Condition

This bass is approximately 60 years old and shows honest signs of age and use, including scratches, finish wear, and oxidation on some hardware.

It has been professionally cleaned, fitted with a new nut, and given a general setup by a guitar technician. It is currently fully playable.

The tone control currently works in the opposite direction from normal.

The output jack functions properly, but moving the plugged-in cable at the jack may occasionally produce crackling noise. This does not normally affect playing, but replacing the jack would be an inexpensive improvement if desired.

The original-style frets are very low, as was typical for these instruments, and they remain quite low today. The bass plays without significant fret-out in its current condition. However, players who prefer modern playability may wish to consider a refret in the future.

Please remember that this is a vintage instrument from the mid-1960s and should be evaluated as such rather than compared with a modern bass.

Included: Non-original gig bag.
