The Fender Custom Shop Limited 1966 Telecaster Heavy Relic in Aged Cimarron Red masterfully combines mid-1960s vintage mojo with meticulous modern craftsmanship. At its core is a resonant, lightweight 2-piece select alder body with an offset seam, finished in a heavily distressed nitrocellulose lacquer that exudes the battle-scarred character of a well-traveled road warrior. The guitar offers exceptional playability thanks to its quartersawn maple neck, carved into a comfortable '60-style Oval "C" back-shape that tapers from .870" at the first fret to .930" at the 12th. This premium neck is paired with a beautiful 3A rosewood round-laminated fingerboard, featuring a player-friendly 9.5" radius and 21 Vintage Upgrade (45085) frets for smooth bending and precise intonation. Plugged in, a duo of Custom Shop hand-wound 1967 Telecaster pickups delivers the definitive late-'60s bite, punchy midrange, and crisp clarity that made this instrument a legend in the first place.
