PreSonus Eris E5 (Unused and flawless display items in their original packaging)
The PreSonus Eris E5 is a pair of active 2-way studio monitors, each featuring a 5.25-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter. As a classic model from the extensive Eris series, the E5 offers an unusually balanced and natural overall sound for its price range, with precise stereo imaging and high headroom. Thanks to a comprehensive and flexible filter section, the speaker’s fundamental sound can be easily adapted to the acoustic conditions of any room. The Presonus Eris E5 is ideal for anyone looking for a reliable studio monitor at an affordable price.
Wide range of connection options
Typically, a pair of Presonus Eris E5 monitors is connected to an analogue stereo output on an audio interface or monitor controller. For this scenario, the rear panel features both a 6.3mm jack input and a standard XLR input, eliminating the need for any adapter cables. As is standard for studio equipment, these inputs are balanced and rated for a reference level of +4 dBu. Alternatively, the Eris E5 also offers an unbalanced RCA input, which is designed to accept signals at -10 dBV, such as those output by hi-fi systems.

Review Soundonsound.com > Conclusion:
Given their price, both monitors offer outstanding quality, and whilst a higher investment might perhaps yield slightly greater fidelity, the law of diminishing returns clearly applies here – and realistically speaking, the differences are lost anyway unless you have a studio space with truly good acoustic treatment.
The E5s are ideal for smaller rooms where stronger bass reproduction would simply cause acoustic issues, whilst the E8s are well suited to a garage-sized studio. These are Presonus’s first monitors, but it seems that – as with all their other products – they have done their homework thoroughly beforehand.
