This is the limited edition Shure brother's 75th anniversary 5575 model dynamic cardioid microphone based off the famous 55 model first introduced in 1939. Like the original 55 this mic has an excellent uni-directional pattern making it perfect for any live situation where background noise can be a problem.

The "Fatboy" made famous by several musicians including a young Elvis Presley himself had a run of 11 years until the second generation of smaller 55 S mics came along in 1951. This 5575 model was made for one year in 2014 and only 5,500 examples were made making this highly collectible and quite rare. In a world of 8 billion people...5,500 is a pretty small number. It comes with it's original desk stand, cable, original box, all documentation and aluminum 5575 case with two keys used for locking the case if needed. There is nothing missing from this package deal.

This 5575 is serial number 3297 of 5,575 units manufactured.

As you can see it's almost identical to the original 55 Fatboy utilizing the same overall design and dimensions. The only real difference is the element used having a very strong output with warm smooth tone. The modern 5575 also has the red foam screens instead of silk and it has the modern XLR attachment making this far more practical.

The satin chrome finish has very zero corrosion, scratches or pitting and there are no fractured or bent ribs. The Shure badge shows no wear and perfectly legible.

The stand thread will screws onto any desk or floor stand you choose to use and the joint mechanism holds strong. This mic is an easy 10 on a scale of 1 - 10.
