Early Austrian-made AKG 414 C B ULS microphone with original microphone clip/attachment

Its one of the arlier versions: serial #11659

The AKG C 414 B-ULS is a legendary, large-diaphragm condenser microphone widely regarded as a versatile studio workhorse. Introduced in 1986 and discontinued, the "ULS" stands for Ultra Linear Series, referring to its incredibly smooth, natural, and balanced sound due to its frequency response and transparent audio capture. This mic is highly sought after by audio engineers for being the very last C414 variant to feature an output transformer, which gives it a touch more harmonic vibe, weight, and smooth high-end compared to modern iterations.

The microphone meets the highest professional standards and will withstand normal rough handling in studio applications. The main features are as follows: A twin-diaphragm system enables the selection of different microphone polar patterns.

The diaphragm is manufactured from a special gold-flashed plastic foil. The gold layer is deposited onto the diaphragm only on the outer side to prevent short circuiting to the main electrode when extremely high sound pressure levels are applied to the microphone.

In addition to extremely wide-range low-distortion performance and temperature/humidity-resistant construction, this mic offers remarkable operational flexibility.

The AKG 414 B-ULS is very sensitive and accurate. It is a highly preferred mic for complex wave-forms, frequently used on:

• Vocals
• Grand pianos and acoustic strings
• Drum overheads and percussion
• Brass and woodwinds

This microphone has been carefully maintained in a smoke-free studio by a music lover and producer, and is fully functional.
