Jackson Pre-Production Soloist 1981 - 1989 - Custom
Jackson Pre Production soloist in Pearlescent Gloss Finish. Guitar has a ebony neck with Floyd Rose Locking Tremolo with brass fine tuners.
The guitar is believed to be from 1986 based on the serial number of J2718. This Soloist features and HSS configuration. And weighs approximately 8.15 lbs.
The guitar appears to be all original except for the following . I dont believe the bridge humbucker is original to the guitar.
Also the pickup mounting ring has two screws not in place either for it is not correct. Or the plastic has shrunk to not allow screws to be replaced without adding additional holes.
The other, is three of the control plate screws are not original and were replaced with modern equivalents to reattach the control plate.
As for the finish it appears to be original. However there are some cosmetic issues. There are two large abrasions on the upper horn and one near the body bevel in the arm area.
I have taken pictures that articulate the blemishes along with measuring them. There is also a small blemish near the strap holder on the bottom.
I have taken a photo of this blemish as well. There is a slight blemish on the finished neck side where a picture was also taken.
The headstock has the blemish at the headstock that is commonly found on Jackson guitars that have been played and gigged.
Also the binding has separated from the headstock on the bottom portion and will need to be repaired.
I have not had it repaired due to maintaining the originality to the guitar as I received it. And will let the new owner decide.
I have taken pictures that best illustrate the guitar’s condition with the allowed maximum photos.
I am the presumed third owner. The gentleman i purchased it from said he got the guitar when he started playing from the original owner who bought it new and used it in a country band and gigged extensively.
However its heritage, this guitar is at home playing country as it is playing hair metal. Wether doing dive bombs or faux pedal steel licks.
With that being said its a great guitar overall, with legitimate gig wear. For an approximately 40 year old guitar. It shows signs and use of its vintage.
The guitar also has its original case that also shows signs of use if its vintage. I have taken photos of the case as well.
If you have any questions don‘t hesitate to ask. What you see in the photos is what you will receive.
If a local buyer would like to see the guitar in person it may be arranged. Thank you for looking.
