Here's one for the true collectors: This 1986 PRS guitar was manufactured in the early part of Paul Smith's history. This guitar was hand-built, and it completely feels like it. The neck shape follows his early neck carves that feel much like the "Pattern Regular" necks of recent times. This one has been played and loved, and bears the battle scars to prove it. However, the mojo of this one is undeniable as soon as you play the first notes. It features the original PRS stamped treble and bass pickups, and has the famous "Sweet Switch" as well as the original wing-collared locking tuners. The script logo on the headstock is of course the early version, and it is stamped with the serial number, indicating a very early manufacturing date. She's got a few scars, but she plays and sounds like a dream. This is a rare find and a great example of what put PRS on the map as a guitar manufacturer. Yes, the price is steep, but the moment you play it, you know why. The case is in relatively good shape, with working latches. The original warranty card sheet is present. The guitar weighs 7.62 lbs.
