Offered for sale is a vintage 1960 Silvertone S-60 NK archtop acoustic guitar, manufactured by Harmony in Chicago, Illinois for Sears.
The interior factory stamp dates the guitar to the second half of 1960 (S-60), with Harmony model designation H623.
This is an honest, largely original example featuring its factory sunburst finish, floating rosewood bridge, trapeze tailpiece, Silvertone headstock logo, and original open-back tuners.
The guitar has been part of the CCM Recording Studios Vintage Guitar Collection and has been carefully maintained in a climate-controlled environment.
Harmony-built Silvertones have become increasingly popular for their dry, woody acoustic tone and classic mid-century American craftsmanship. They are equally at home for blues, folk, Americana, old-time jazz, and fingerstyle playing.
