Every once in a while, Gibson accidentally creates a guitar that makes perfectly rational adults start explaining to their spouses why "this one is different."

"This isn't another Les Paul."

"It's THE Les Paul."

Then begins the PowerPoint presentation nobody requested...

"See, honey... the flame changes depending on the angle. The Murphy Lab aging is hand done. These are Custombuckers. This neck is based on an original '59. The nitro finish actually..."

Twenty-seven minutes later your spouse has quietly wandered off, the dog is asleep, and you're still enthusiastically discussing hide glue and long neck tenons with absolutely no audience.

That's this guitar.

This 2024 Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab '59 Reissue is exactly why the Historic Collection has become the benchmark for Les Paul enthusiasts. The Slow Iced Tea Fade is rich, warm, and incredibly three-dimensional, showing off a beautifully figured flamed maple top that seems to change personality every time the light hits it. The Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aging adds just enough vintage character to make you wonder if it's been hiding in a Nashville studio for the last sixty years... without looking like it survived a bar fight with Keith Richards.

Best of all, it weighs a comfortable 8.8 pounds, proving that not all legendary tone has to come with a complimentary chiropractor.

She’s 100% original, and we just put on a fresh new set of 10-46’s, so she’s all dressed up and ready to rock!

Condition:

She was born on January 9th, 2024 and has never been owned by an end-user.

She remains in exactly the same Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged condition as the day she left Nashville. Every finish check, tiny lacquer line, dulled piece of hardware and hint of vintage wear was created by the Murphy Lab artisans—not by an overachieving previous owner armed with a belt buckle and poor decision-making skills.

The frets are perfect, the neck is silky smooth, the electronics work flawlessly, and she plays every bit as good as she looks. This is essentially a brand-new Murphy Lab guitar that has simply been waiting for its first real owner.

Included is the original Gibson Lifton Brown/Pink hardshell case, the case candy and Murphy Lab Certificate, just as shown in the photos.
