AKAI M-8 Tube Microphone Preamp from tape machine - ReCapped, Restored / in custom case

This is an awesome AKAI M-8 tape machine tube microphone preamp built into a custom case, completely restored / recapped. Sounds awesome, I have a matched stereo pair of them. This is for one.

These are the tube microphone preamps from an AKAI M-8 tape machine, restored / recapped with orange drop caps to a high standard and ready to record.

"These preamps are excellent examples of Japan's re-entry into Hi Quality Hi Tech Electronics post WW II. The electronics are A+ engineered ,and used very high quality  components. This is enough to seriously amp a very low output ribbon,quietly !.If you want to really hear how the ribbons are SUPPOSED to sound- You're gonna need to use a transformer into a tube type preamp. This was the original intended design! Signal flow 101. Here's what they can do.These AKAI Preamps have three inputs #1,-"MIC IN is Hi Z great for harp mics,awesome for Instrument Direct in.# 2- ,LINE IN" Great for Keyboards, Synths,Hot Efx.#3- "MIC IN" with supplied Lo to Hi Z matching transformer suits all L0 Z pro (XLR Type Mics This preamp will give you that "big,open sound" you've been looking for with little or no e.q. Any mic transformer plugged in to "Mic In" can make it Lo Z for pro studio mics. Check out the scope waveforms.  Input is 18mv (millivolts) ,that of an anemic vintage ribbon mic. Pix shows perfect sine wave (no distortion) at line level,1.414 volts.So-60db+ ! Second pix shows intentionally clipped almost square wave for all the harmonic distortion you can dream up!
