This Master Built Ash P Bass Special from David Brown has the feel of a classic Fender that has been played hard for years but still responds like a brand-new instrument. The lightweight ash body keeps the bass quick and open, giving every note a clear attack and a tight low end that sits beautifully in a mix. The aged natural relic work adds character without going overboard, giving it the look of a well-loved and well used vintage piece.

The quarter sawn maple neck has the familiar 60 J Bass U profile with a solid, confident feel that encourages digging in. The AAA rosewood fingerboard adds warmth and smoothness, and the medium jumbo frets make it easy to play with authority while still keeping a vintage touch. It feels stable, comfortable, and ready for long sessions or stage work.

The pickup set gives this bass a wide and musical voice. The Hand Wound 75 70 P Bass pickup provides a thick and focused midrange that anchors the instrument, while the Hand Wound 75 J Bass bridge pickup adds clarity, bite, and definition. Together they create a blend that can move from warm and supportive to bright and aggressive with ease. The RSD Deluxe bridge adds sustain and stability, keeping everything tight and consistent.
