Roland's Legendary SH-2

In the late 1970s, the development of polyphony and built-in patch memory ushered in a period of major transformation for synthesizers.
While synthesizer manufacturers around the world were competing to develop these new technologies, Roland released the SH-2?a monophonic synthesizer that, at first glance, seemed unremarkable, but has since become legendary.

The SH-2fs capabilities were modest compared to Rolandfs pioneering JUPITER-4, which was released around the same time.

However, its configuration of two VCOs and a sub-oscillator effectively gave it three VCOs, enabling it to produce an incredibly thick and warm analog synth tone.
To this day, many synth enthusiasts feel that no other instrument besides the SH-2 can produce such earth-shaking, bone-rattling synth bass sounds.
