Originally designed alongside the Flying V and Explorer as Gibson's futuristic line of electric guitars in 1958, the Moderne was not put into production until 1982. This is a clean, all original example from the first year of production. The black finished version is also more rare than the natural Korina version. The original pickups have a brighter airy tone similar to a PAF. It is very lightweight and resonant. The neck is a comfortable medium C profile. The neck angle is good and the action is set low at 2/32". Overall condition is excellent with just light play wear. Comes with the original hardshell case.
