The 2026 Rickenbacker 330 continues the company's recent shift toward "vintage-spec" appointments while maintaining modern internal structural improvements. If you are looking at a brand-new model this year, the most significant changes involve the neck and truss rod system, which differ from models produced just a few years ago.
2026 Model Key Updates
- 21-Fret Neck: For several decades, the 330 featured 24 frets. As of the recent updates (starting around 2023 and standard for 2026), Rickenbacker has reverted to the 21-fret neck. This change is purely aesthetic and historical, aiming for the "classic" look of the 1960s.
- Single Dual-Action Truss Rod: Moving away from the traditional (and sometimes finicky) dual single-action rods, the 2026 models feature a single, dual-action truss rod. This provides much more reliable adjustability and makes it significantly easier to maintain proper neck relief.
- Slimmer Neck Profile: The neck has been re-contoured to be less "chunky" than the early 2000s versions, leaning toward a more comfortable, "vintage-accurate" feel.
