Here we have a 2012 Gibson Explorer 76' reissue that is so darn close to being mint. It looks new and has hardly been played with the frets looking like new. There is 1 small chip on the tip of the headstock and a very light surface scratch on the back of body that is hard to notice unless you look in the right light. There is also a wood seam on the back from the 2 piece body showing slightly through the finish from the factory. Lastly a small scratch by the input jack. None of these minor flaws show in the pictures.

The 2 T-top stamped Gibson humbucking pickups scream after a set up with a 'gorgeous' seasoned rosewood fretboard I installed a set of Ernie Ball .10-.46 strings. The guitar is ready to play!

A nearly flawless 14 year old Gibson Explorer with a like new case and all the tags and paperwork!

This Gibson Explorer 76' Reissue with serial number 123421474 was manufactured on August 22, 2012 at the Nashville, Tennessee factory as part of batch number 1.

Factory Specifications (2012 Gibson Explorer '76 Reissue:

• Body & Neck: Solid mahogany body paired with a set mahogany neck featuring a slim, fast neck profile.
• Fingerboard: 22 frets. Note: 2012 was a transition year for Gibson; depending on the exact build date, the fretboard may be Rosewood, Baked Maple, or Obeche.
• Pickups: High-output Gibson humbuckers (typically a 496R ceramic humbucker at the neck and a 500T ceramic humbucker at the bridge).
• Hardware: Tune-O-Matic bridge with a stop bar tailpiece and Mini-Grover inline tuners.
• Controls: Two volume controls, one master tone control, and a 3-way toggle switch.

Gordy's Music has become a Detroit institution! Our shop was used as a filming location for a few films like "Miracle in Motor City" a Christmas movie on Lifetime (featuring Smoky Robinson). We've supplied gear for movies including "Bill & Ted Face The Music" with Keanu Reeves. We've got decades of celebrity customers, including recent visits from Beck, Eric Johnson, and we recently sold Billy Joel's bassist a cool Gibson SG he is in love with. One day a while back Andre 3000 and his group stopped in to browse as they were playing Masonic Temple that night and right after that we sold an old oil can Morley Wah Vibrato pedal to Credence Clearwater Revival's thee John Fogerty!

We are having and have had a lot of fun here at Gordy's Music! I was just remembering about 35 years ago a tour bus pulled up to our little shop, and who rolls right in and hangs out for an hour? Lenny Kravitz and his entire group, right about the same time I was selling many guitars to and chauffeuring around Dee Dee Ramone who had an apartment a block down from my house.
