For sale is my 1998 Fender American Vintage ’57 Stratocaster Reissue (AVRI) in the highly sought-after Aztec Gold finish.
This is an exceptionally clean, collector-worthy example that has also been thoughtfully upgraded for players. It currently features a professionally installed set of Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot pickups, while the original Fender American Vintage pickups are included with the sale.
The guitar has been meticulously cared for in a smoke-free, climate-controlled home and includes the original tweed hardshell case along with the original case candy, manuals, registration card, bridge cover, and accessories.
The one-piece maple neck has developed a beautiful natural vintage amber tint over the years that perfectly complements the Aztec Gold finish.
This Strat has everything you’d expect from an early AVRI: lightweight feel, comfortable soft “V” neck profile, vintage-correct 7.25” radius, and outstanding resonance. The Fralin pickups take it a step further with incredible clarity, warmth, and classic Strat chime while still retaining a true vintage character.

Condition
Overall, I would rate the guitar Excellent for its age.
It has been extremely well cared for and shows only light cosmetic wear consistent with a carefully owned vintage-style instrument. The neck is straight, frets have plenty of life remaining, and the electronics function perfectly.
The guitar plays effortlessly with low action and sounds phenomenal.
