Gibson J-185 Century 12-Fret Vintage Sunburst

The Gibson Century Collection was introduced to mark the 100th anniversary of Gibson flattop guitars, and naturally, a fitting J-185 model had to be included. With the J-185 Century 12-Fret, Gibson has succeeded in crafting an instrument that captures tradition, craftsmanship, and tone with uncompromising precision and elegant simplicity.

The Gibson J-185 Century 12-Fret in Vintage Sunburst impresses with its vintage charm and understated style. The 12-fret construction is the key factor in its sound. By shifting the bridge to the soundboard's "sweet spot," the guitar produces greater volume and enhanced bass response. In the high frequencies, it sounds less wiry than its 14-fret counterpart, offering a sweeter tone instead.

A satin finish provides a natural feel, making the neck particularly pleasant to play, while the Vintage Sunburst top adds authentic vintage appeal. The guitar’s remarkably light weight is also worth highlighting; it sits comfortably on the lap and is perfectly balanced. The package is rounded off with a beautiful "Century"-style tweed case.
